Yet another day off in Wales
Exciting things are a foot.
I’m joining forces with a Cardiff based journalist to create a website featuring in-depth documentary stories about Cardiff. The website differs from other similar concepts in that we will spend a month working together on one story to create a solid and well considered piece of journalism. We don’t want to diss other websites out there, but we felt that there was an over saturation of ‘snap-shot’ journalism websites, so the idea is to take the time to work with people, companies, or whatever, who we feel are doing something extraordinary by moving Cardiff forward in a positive way. It’s a blank canvas, so the only definitions we want to give at this stage is that each story will be related to Cardiff in some way and be an extended report that provides a monthly story that is considered, original, and eclectic. At some point, once we’ve found the right person, we’re going to introduce short films so that each report is complimented and appeals to those who prefer to digest either journalism, photography, or videography.
It launches in January 2012 and we hope to have created 2 full length stories by that point. It’s called dubcardiff.com, and while it’s not live yet, you can start following us on twitter and facebook now. It will be free of the constraint’s of advertising and be completely free to read. More news to follow, but for the mean time, I wouldn’t let another blog go by without a few pictures, so here’s some water. Lot’s of it.
But before we begin, do you see the rather broken man-tree in this picture? No? Just me then…
