“Superstore Music” Record Label Launch

12th November

What a brilliant night. Superstore Records held their launch night at Ginglik, Shepherd’s Bush to the sounds of several bands including their first signing Marty Shtrubel.

The venue looked like they were converted underground public toilets at the edge of Shepherd’s Bush Green, but there was nothing sterile about the music on offer. Introduced by Superstore Records co-founder, John Etkin-Bell, Jim Oxborrow of SmallWhiteLight began the night with a lovely acoustic session.

Following shortly after was a sublime set by a band from Reading that I’ve never heard of (which I’m not proud of considering that’s where I’m from), called Sleep Room. They were probably my personal favorite of the night.

After Sleep room a two piece known as Days That Follow came on and think I fell in love with the lead singer a little bit Interesting fact: The male … Read More »

30th August

We are living in exceptional times. Scientists tell us that we have 10 years to change the way we live, avert the depletion of natural resources and the catastrophic evolution of the Earth’s climate.

The stakes are high for us and our children.

Everyone should take part in the effort, and HOME has been conceived to take a message of mobilization out to every human being.

For this purpose, HOME needs to be free. A patron, the PPR Group, made this possible. EuropaCorp, the distributor, also pledged not to make any profit because Home is a non-profit film.

HOME has been made for you : share it! And act for the planet.

It’s a darkly humourous and shocking exposé of the celebrity obsessed media, that uncovers the real reasons behind our addiction to fame and blows the lid on the corporations and individuals who profit from it.

Directed by Chris Atkins, BAFTA nominated for Taking Liberties, Starsuckers exploded into the news in October when it emerged that the team had been selling fake celebrity stories to all the British Tabloids. This became a news sensation in it’s own right, and was followed by the darker revelation that Atkins had secretly filmed four journalists for three Sunday tabloids trying to buy medical records.

The filmmakers also stung Max Clifford, who the film shows boasting about … Read More »
